Pago de los Capellanes 2024 'O Luar do Sil' Godello, Valdeorras Spain

One of our favorite Ribera del Duero producers, Pago de los Capellanes, started a second winery in Valdeorras to specialize in white wines from the Godello grape and their wines never disappoint. This wine is 100% Godello grown on granitic soils near the village of Codos de Larauco. All grapes are hand-harvested and undergo a cold maceration on the skins to retain optimal aromatics. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats after pressing. When fermentation is complete the wine rests on its lees for 3 months with batonnage (lees stirring) to deliver richness, body and aromatic density.
