Patrick Piuze 2023 Chablis Premier Cru "Vaulorent", Burgundy

When a celebrated premier cru vineyard is cultivated and then crafted into wine by a master like Patrick Piuze, the wine transcends the usual and enters rarified status.  Such is the case with Piuze’s 2023 Vaulorent.  Elegant, round, and richly textured, you would be forgiven if you thought this was a Côte d’Or premier cru like Meursault.  The difference, of course, is the fresh-tasting tang in the finish that brings you back to its Chablis hillside origins.  Very impressive.
