Pavillon de Leoville Poyferre 2019 Saint-Julien, Bordeaux

This handsome red Bordeaux is the second label of the classified growth Chateau Léoville Poyferre, and I might add a fraction of the price of the big wine.  Made up of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot from 30 year old vines, this wine is aged in 2^nd year oak barrels, so very little wood flavoring is present here.  As a result it has lovely fruit and balance with smooth tannins.  A very pretty wine you can drink now.
