Rocca di Montegrossi 2015 Vin Santo del Chianti Classico, Italy - Half Bottle

Montegrossi’s Vin Santo is by far the richest, most concentrated wine of its type we’ve ever experienced.  And we’re not alone.  Galloni said as much.  Made completely from Malvasia Bianca which was dried in bunches in the estate’s attic over the winter to acquire botrytis, then crushed, fermented and aged in small cherry, oak and mulberry barrels for seven years, then an additional three years in the bottle. Velvety, with intense flavors of apricot, dates, toasted almond, coffee.  The winery’s pairing suggestions: panna cotta; soft blue cheese; paté; or simply on its own. Serve at cellar temperature in large glasses.
