EXCITING NATURAL RED WINES JUST INTO THE STORE!

After sitting down and trying these wines I just had to share my discoveries with you all. One of the things I enjoy about being the Natural Wine Specialist is the variety of wines I can be introduced to in one tasting. Wines with bright red fruit and a light body, bold savory/herbal reds and some fruit forward/crowd pleasing wines. I would like to let you all know about some awesome new Natural Red Wines from France and a couple from the United States that are now available in store and online!

2020 Domaine De L’R SO2, Chinon.- $25.99 per bottle

This Cab Franc has nice acidity and bold savory components while still being able to have a fruity profile as well. Vibrant green pepper leads into notes of soft black plums. Subtle white pepper and noticeable minerality keeps the wine light on the palate while still giving you something to think about.

2021 Clos des Mourres Pompette Rouge, France.- $19.99 per bottle

A blend of Counoise, Grenache, Cinsault, Tempranillo and a native grape Aubun. This light crunchy French wine has hints of vegetal and soft minerality. Delicate plum fruit rounds out the finish.

2018 Philippe Badea Les Chibanettes, France.- $25.99 per bottle

These Grenache vines date back to 1945! With those deep roots you are getting a wine with big rich fruit up front along with hints of coco. Vibrant oak spice leads to subtle toasted oak with more coco on the finish.

2018 Domaine du Temps La Combe du Temps, Languedoc.- $22.99 per bottle

After spending a year in the barrel, this 50/50 blend of Syrah and Grenache will have any fan of GSMs smiling. Savory white pepper characteristics pair with soft blueberries and other brambly fruits to balance out each other very well. The savory white pepper also serves as light tannic structure creating a floral finish.

2020 Old Westminster Winery Pepper, Maryland.- $23.99 per bottle

A blend of 50% Cabernet Franc, 30% Blaufrankisch and 20% Chambourcin this wine isn’t as green as one would expect. A combination of figs and black plums bring some richness while light notes of red plums adds some acidity. Soft vegetal notes do make their way through, working with the acidity to make a floral and light finish.

2022 Break Bread Wines Al Dente, Sonoma.- $23.99 per bottle

Made with Mourvedre, this wine can be enjoyed chilled or at standard temperature. Full of dark brambly characteristics, dark cherries, blackberries, and plums being the most prominent. Subtle tannins serve as a break from the fruit before it comes back and settles softly on the palate. When chilled, the blackberry and plum flavors become more blueberry like.
