NOSOTROS SPIRITS; TEQUILA AND MEZCAL MADE FOR US

The story of Nosotros starts when Carlos Soto, a Costa Rican Native, was in college working on a business proposal for a class. What started as words on paper for a grade became real life in 2017 when Nosotros Blanco Tequila was released and started winning awards at some of the top Spirits Competitions in the country. Now Carlos and his business partner Michael Arbanas have multiple Tequila expressions and a Mezcal under the Nosotros brand. What I really admire about this young brand is their ability to look at the big picture. And what I mean by that is Carlos and Michael pay attention to where they get their Agaves, how the land is treated, what distillery they work with, how they procure their bottles and what foundations they give back to.

Using a 50/50 blend of Highland and Lowland Agaves allows Nosotros to not only get a great balance in flavor in their finished products, but it also allows them to practice crop rotation in the fields. By focusing on multiple regions for their Agave no one singular field needs to take the brunt of the burden of producing Agave. By rotating crops, the land is able to stay healthy and produce healthy Agave. The distillery that makes Nosotros is Destiladora Del Valle (NOM 1438) which is female owned and operated. And every bottle of Nosotros is made from 100% recycled glass. In the past they have donated to Waves for Water and now work with EcoDrive and Toucan Rescue Ranch. All these factors show to me that Carlos and Michael aren't only looking out for themselves but for all of us. We currently carry 3 expressions from Nosotros; their Tequila Blanco, Tequila Reposado and Mezcal. 

Nosotros Tequila Blanco- $3.99 per 50ml bottle, $43.99 per 750ml bottle

Highland agave up front, lowland agave in the back. Soft coating mouthfeel leads to stone fruit and hints of pepper. Delicate earthy tones on finish along with coco.

Nosotros Tequila Reposado- $49.99 per bottle

Aged 11 months in large new American Oak. Butterscotch, vanilla bean and coco nibs. Earthy/vegetal notes cut through the sweetness while allowing the vanilla to linger on the palate.

Nosotros Mezcal- $59.99 per bottle

A blend (or Ensamble if you would) of 60% Espadin and 40% Tobala. There is a delicate smokiness that is present throughout without taking over. Soft stone fruit, vegetal with some salinity too. Light orange blossom before a combination of white pepper, minerality and smoke on the finish.
