Often when I have a customer who is looking for a Single Malt Whisky they are looking for a spirit from Scotland or Japan. But whenever the customer is looking for "something a little different" for the Single Malt drinker in their lives, or something different for themselves they usually hear from me; "Have you had an American Single Malt before?". Typically I get an intrigued look from them and hear something along the lines of "Americans make Bourbon and Rye, what do we know about Single Malts?" While geographically American Single Malts will differentiate from Single Malts from Scotland and Japan, that elegance, that mouthfeel and that finesse that Single Malt drinkers enjoy can be found in spirits made here in America. Virginia Distillery Courage & Conviction Single Malt Cuvee Cask $83.99 per bottle

This 100% malted barley whisky is aged for at least 3 years before bottling. Robust Dark chocolate, dry coco and toffee. Toasted caramel and softer orange zest on finish. Great mouthfeel and depth.
